Super Gayla Recap

Thank you to the 400+ community members who came together on Saturday, April 27, at the Super Gayla to fight to end LGBTQ youth homelessness in Houston! We raised more than $157,000 for rapid rehousing services for local LGBTQ homeless youth.

We couldn’t have done it without our amazing team! Huge thanks to our generous underwriters Concierge Travel, Thomas O’Neill Homes, Noble Energy, and The Ballroom at Bayou Place. Another round of applause for our amazing performers Amy Armstrong, Freddy Allen, Eric Krop, Abigail, Ruby Platinum, Iris Seymour, Dynasty Banks, and Blackberri, who left their heart and souls on the stage. Extra kudos to Blackberri for being an gracious and entertaining host as our Emcee. And we can’t send enough appreciation to Diana Espitia for sharing her story and inspiring us with her selfless love for her son and daughter.

Thank you also to our Event Committee for their help and guidance through the planning process: Kim Gustavsson, Charles Caliva, Tommy O’Neill, Brent Whiteley, Carol Wyatt-Woodell, Sallie Wyatt-Woodell, and Matt Wilhoit. Our sincerest appreciation to Kirksey Gregg Productions for the wonderful décor. Thank you also to our amazing team of Table Hosts who brought the impressive crowd!

Huge thanks to XVRcade for providing our guests with a virtual reality superhero experience. Thank you also to Dad’s Records for keeping our guests grooving throughout the night!
