Request for Assistance/Solicitud de asistencia

Harris County LGBTQ+ COVID-19 Stimulus Fund – Through the Harris County COVID-19 Relief Fund, the Montrose Center has been provided funding for Flexible Emergency Financial Assistance in the form of VISA gift cards to Harris County residents with incomes below 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI) based on family size. Applicants who have been impacted by COVID-19 and meet these qualifications and have not received assistance from a City of Houston BakerRipley Rental Assistance program will rapidly qualify for this assistance. (NOTE: Individuals enrolled in one or more public assistance program – SNAP, TANF, Gold Card, etc –  are automatically-qualified.) This fund is in addition to the LGBTQ+ COVID-19 Recovery Fund which is also available through the Montrose Center.

LGBTQ+ COVID-19 Recovery Fund – On April 15, 2020 the Montrose Center began providing direct financial assistance to community members impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Direct financial assistance is primarily provided through paying bills such as rent, mortgage, utilities, and providing gift cards. Thanks to the generosity of many funding sources this fund is available to help support people living with HIV, undocumented immigrants, transgender individuals, and the LGBTQ+ community which are disproportionately impacted by economic disasters and often under-served by traditional disaster relief operations. Portions of this fund have been designated for people living with HIV, LGBTQ+ survivors of Domestic Violence and LGBTQ+ Veterans.
