Support the Montrose Center During COVID-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact and disrupt our everyday lives, many in our community are facing new barriers and hardships. Many of you have reached out to us asking how you can best support the Montrose Center and the greater community during this time, and now we’re ready to call on you for that support.

Our amazing staff has organized a series of drives to provide relief to our community during this time. Here are some of the ways you can participate:

  • Host a COVID-19 Virtual Drive
    • Emergency Food Pantry
    • COVID-19 Outreach Worker Supplies
    • Cleaning & Sanitation Supplies
  • Donate Items
    • By shipping them directly to the Center from online vendors
      • Address to: the Montrose Center, c/o Volunteer Department, 401 Branard St, 2nd Floor, Houston, TX 77006
    • Drop off items to the Center’s second floor receptionist desk
  • Donate to our COVID-19 Response and Relief Fund to provide the following to our clients:
    • Emergency Financial Assistance
    • Housing for LGBTQ+ homeless youth and violence survivors
    • Shelf-stable food for LGBTQ+ seniors
    • Mental health support & therapy for those in crisis
    • Workforce development activities for those who are unemployed
  • Share our Assistance Programs and Resources List

As a reminder, we are asking the community to do the following things to help slow the spread or transmission of COVID-19:

  • Stay home if you’re sick or feeling sick or under the weather.
  • Avoid social gatherings. Harris County has prohibited social gatherings outside of a single-living unit as part of its “Stay Home, Work Safe” order.
  • Practice social distancing (six foot distance) when out in public.

Abiding by these guidelines will help keep you and the most vulnerable members of our communities safe and healthy.
