the Center is Open & Ready to Help
Were you impacted by Hurricane Harvey?
The Montrose Center is here to help you recover from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. We are connecting community members to resources and filling the gap between what other organizations and services are providing and the needs of our LGBTQ community and HIV positive communities.
Resources are being delivered directly into the hands of those in need – which can be requested through our Hurricane Harvey LGBTQ Disaster Relief: Request for Resources form.
Case managers will begin responding to your submissions to support coordinating your needs and determining what we can help provide.
The resources available at the Center for survivors of Hurricane Harvey include but are not limited to:
Case management services
Shelf stable meals
Behavioral health counseling

Open Request for Donations: We Need Your Help
Check constantly for up-to-the minute updates on our needs in the coming days.
Starting on Monday, September 11, we will be moving from immediate response to the longer term recovery process – this includes support such as grocery and household supplies, retail gift cards, case management, and direct financial assistance to cover costs not supported by traditional relief agencies. If you or someone you know would like to access these services please fill out the Hurricane Harvey LGBTQ Disaster Relief: Request for Services form on the Montrose Center website.
As we make this transition, the Center will no longer be accepting basic hurricane relief needs and in-kind donations. For those who would still like to give items that cover those needs, please consider the Houston Food Bank! You can drop off donations curbside at their 535 Portwall St. location through September 9th between the hours of 8 AM and 6PM Monday through Friday, and 8 AM to 3 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
Look below to see the items that the Food Bank is most in need of:
Canned ready-to-eat items with pull tops: vegetables and fruit
Protein in pouches or pull-top cans: tuna, beef stew, chili, canned chicken
Snacks: granola bars, breakfast bars, etc.
Thank you again for helping our community rebuild after Harvey. For questions, please call our main line at (713) 529-0037.
