Are You Positive About Your HIV Status?

One of the best tools we have in combating HIV is the power and knowledge gained when knowing one’s status. Montrose Counseling center will observe National HIV Testing Day on Monday, June 27 by providing free Rapid Oraquick testing. This year’s theme is “Take the Test. Take Control.” If you want to take control of your health, stop the GLBT Cultural Center, 401 Branard Street on National HIV Testing Day, rooms 111 and 112. The test is quick and only involves a swab inside your mouth.

MCC offers a number of HIV services, including counseling, case management, education, prevention and risk reduction. Our Community PROMISE program is looking for role models to talk about how they’ve reduced their risk of HIV infection, along with peer advocates to educate others in the community. HIV testing is always available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Montrose Counseling Center, 401 Branard. An appointment isn’t necessary; however, we encourage you to call ahead in order that you may be seen you right away. For more information, please call 713.529.0037.
