HATCH Focuses on Suicide Prevention & Anti-Bullying with the Generous Support of the Diana Foundation
The Diana Foundation President John Heinzerling says, “As the oldest active GLBT organization in the nation, we feel a real sense of responsibility to our communities’ youth, to provide them with opportunities and support that many of us didn’t have growing up.”
In November, Montrose Counseling Center’s Safe Zones Project was listed as the first reason Houston and Harris County were selected as one of the 100 Best Communities for Youth by America’s Promise Alliance. Safe Zones Project is an in-school counseling program for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth and their family members.
Grants to spur growth in the size and scope of MCC’s volunteer force will have a direct impact on the quality of life for 1,900 Houstonians receiving services from MCC in 2011, and be felt by an estimated 25,000 others who benefit from our education, prevention and outreach programs.
