On Tuesday, September 20, Montrose Counseling Center and Houston Rescue and Restore Coalition will present Cutting Edge, a movie about the rise of human trafficking and the sex trade in Romania. The film will begin at 7 p.m. in Rooms 106/107 of the GLBT Cultural Center, 401 Branard Street. This event is free and open to all; however the film does address mature subject matter, so viewer discretion is advised.
It’s not easy to talk about suicide, but we must. Montrose Counseling Center offers support groups and individual counseling for those dealing with depression or anxiety. If you find yourself spinning into darkness, volunteers with Gay & Lesbian Switchboard Houston are available for crisis calls, 24 hours a day, at 713.529.3211.
Get active for a good cause! Montrose Counseling Center is excited to invite you to participate in the Houston Walk for Mental Health Awareness on October 15, 2011. All proceeds benefit local non-profit mental health providers, including MCC.
Whether you work in our Cyber Center, at an event, in the office, with a special project, by answering the Gay & Lesbian Switchboard Houston hotline, or by teaching a class in the GLBT Cultural Center, you can help us improve quality of life for GLBT individuals. Schedules are flexible, and your help is always appreciated.
Volunteer orientations are Saturday, August 13 and September 10. Submit a volunteer application today!
