Out for Good Raises $133,000 for LGBTQ Houston

Thank you to the 200 amazing community members who donated in support of the Out for Good virtual gala, honoring Dalton DeHart. Because of your generosity, we have raised more than $133,000 for LGBTQ Houston. We can’t thank you enough!!! 

What an amazing show! Emcee Deborah Duncan was a gracious host and Event Chairs Jason & Julia Wang invited us into their beautiful home for live segments. Executive Director Ann Robison, Chief Development Officer Kennedy Loftin, and Board President Tara Kelly shared our commitment to LGBTQ seniors, as well as updates on the construction of the new Law Harrington Senior Living Center. Event Chair Jack Berger and volunteer David Ramirez shared their passion for our mission and invited community support.

Mayor Annise Parker presented Dalton DeHart with the 2020 LGBTQ Community Vision Award. Lane Lewis and Judge Jerry Simoneaux shared stories and insights into Dalton’s life. City Council Member David W. Robinson made a mayoral proclamation in Dalton’s honor, and several community members sent congratulations remarks, including Senator John WhitmoreJD Doyle, Judge Phyllis FryeLee Ingalls & Brett Cullum, Crimson Jordan, Brian Reeves & Branden Kuzmick, Dayna Steele, Judge Fran Watson, and the staff of OutSmart Magazine.

Throughout, celebrity guests Carson Kressley, Willie GarsonAlec MapaFortune Feimster, and Wilson Cruz thanked donors. The show ended with a set of holiday music performed by Christina Wells, Angelina DM Trailz, and Eric Michael Krop.

Thanks to the $50,000 Leadership Match— made possible by Past Board President Chris Robertson, Board President Tara Kelly, and a generous anonymous donor—every dollar donated since December 3 will be doubled. Other contributors include Board Members Karen Carlson, Bryan Cotton, Tina Burgos, Aaron Masterson, Nancy Sims, Michael Sirimaturos, and Ralph Herrring.

Before the show, volunteers delivered Thank You boxes to sponsors, which included delicious treats and Stoli Vodka.
