Be an Advocate for MCC and Its Programs

At Montrose Counseling Center’s annual The Secret’s Out dinner, we invite community members to learn more about MCC and how our programs improve quality of life for Houston’s GLBT communities. We hope you can join us on Thursday, October 7. The one-hour program will begin promptly at 7 p.m. and will include a light dinner and inspirational program of client and volunteer testimonials. The event is free to attend, although we do hope to inspire you to make a donation in support of our programs.

The evening will kick off at 6 p.m. with an open house of the community center on our 1st floor, which includes rentable event/meeting community space, lease-able offices, and the homes of Delta Phi Upsilon, Dignity Houston , Gulf Coast Archive and Museum of GLBT History, Lesbian Health Initiative, PFLAG Houston, Pride Houston, and MCC’s youth group HATCH and seniors group SPRY.

Already a firm believer in the value of Montrose Counseling Center and its programs? We invite you to be an Advocate for us by helping us spread the word about the importance of our work. Do you know two or three people who might want to learn more about us who you can invite to join you at the event?

Because space is limited, we ask you to Rsvp you and your guests by September 23. For more information or to Rsvp, please contact Community Projects Specialist Meleah Jones at 713.800.0872 or communitydev@montrosecounselingcenter.org.

Come Out & Celebrate National Coming Out Day

It’s time to “come out” again… that is, come out again to celebrate National Coming Out Day at the Houston Coming Out Party! Last year’s party had nearly 300 attendees and raised more than $13,000 for Pride Houston and Montrose Counseling Center.

This year, the party will be a social mixer with refreshments, hors d’oeuvres, and an Erotic Art Auction. Organizers say there will be some surprises and special guests this year, so please show your support for MCC at this special event, which will take place 3 – 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, and its new location, a private residence at 924 Euclid.

This year’s charities include MCC’s Seniors Preparing for Rainbow Years (SPRY) program and an initiative we will launch to better serve Houston’s GLBT homeless youth population.

General admission tickets are $25 and VIP tickets are $50 and include VIP bar, meet the artists, models, special guests, etc.

For more information or to Rsvp for the event, please contact the party’s host Gary Wood at 832.483.3101 or HoustonComingOutParty@gmail.com. You must be at least 21 years old to attend.
